RE:NOVEMBER 2,2016 TARIFF ADVICE LETTERS REVISING THE
LIFELINE ELLGIBLLITY LANGUAGE TO COMPLY WITH
FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS—FILED BY CAMBRIDGE
TELEPHONE COMPANY,INC.;DIRECT COMMUNICATIONS;
AND RURAL TELEPHONE COMPANY,DRA RTI.
On November 2,2016,the Commission received Tariff Advice Letters from the
following Companies:I)Cambridge Telephone Company,Inc.,I.P.U.C.No.3;2)Direct
Communications,I.P.U.C.No.3;and 3)Rural Telephone Company,dba RTI,I.P.U.C.
No.2 (collectively,the “Companies”).With these filings,the Companies seek
Commission approval for language revisions to the Lifeline eligibility requirements in
compliance with the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC)Lifeline
Modernization Order (FCC 16-38),released on April 27,2016.The Companies request
an effective date of December 2,2016.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff has reviewed the Tariff Advice Letters for the above Companies and
believes it meets state and federal requirements.Staff recommends Commission
approval with an effective date of December 2,2016.
