Currently,only electric utilities can legally sell electricity.Idaho House Bill No.185 provides for an exception to a defined term where electricity is purchased to charge batteries of electric motor vehicles.This bill allows non-electric utility companies to sell electricity for charging electric cars and supports the development of car-charging businesses. Idaho House Bill No.185 was signed by the Governor on April 2,2015 and the amended Section 61-119 will become effective July 1,2015.Idaho Power Company has requested that the revised Schedule modifying the “Limitation of Use”provision of Rule C be approved prior to the July 1,2015 effective date. RECOMMENDATION Staff has reviewed the Company’s revised Schedule and finds it is in compliance with the amended Section 61-119.Staff recommends the Schedule be approved with an effective date of July 1,2015.
