HomeMy WebLinkAbout20150413_4647.pdfDECISION MEMORANDUM TO:COMMISSIONER KJELLANDER COMMISIONER RAPER COMMISSIONER REDFORD COMMISSION SECRETARY COMMISSION STAFF FROM:DON HOWELL,DEPUTY ATTORNEY GENERAL MARIA BARRATT-RILEY,DEPUTY ADMINISTRATOR CAROLEE HALL,TELECOM UTILITIES ANALYST GRACE SEAMAN,TELECOM UTILITIES ANALYST DATE:APRIL 10,2015 SUBJECT:UPDATING THE LIST OF REGULATED UTILITIES The Commission’s procedural Rule 18.02 (Annual Regulatory Fees)authorizes the administrative removal of utilities and railroads from the list of utilities subject to the annual regulatory fee.A utility or railroad may be removed from the list if they:(1)fail to pay their special regulatory fees;(2)are no longer conducting business in Idaho;and (3)fail to maintain a designated agent for service with Commission Secretary,IDAPA 3 1.01.01.018.02. The Fiscal and Telecom staff reviewed the current list of utilities and railroads subject to the annual regulatory fee and identified seven (7)telephone companies that meet the criteria above. Staff determined the attached list of telecommunication carriers meet the three conditions to be administratively removed from the list of utilities subject to the annual regulatory fee.The carriers are identified by company name,the Secretary of State Certificate number (if one exists), the status of the certificate,and in some cases the Order to cancel their Certificate of Public Convenience COMMISSION DECISION Does the Commission agree with Staffs recommendation to administratively remove the companies on the attached list from the list of utilities subject to the annual regulatory fee as provided in procedural Rule 18.02?
