SUBJECT: VELOCITY’S APPLICATION FOR A CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC
CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY, CASE NO. VGP-T-09-01
On June 4, 2009, Velocity The Greatest Phone Company Ever, Inc. (Velocity) filed an
Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to provide resold local
exchange telecommunications services in the State of Idaho. The Application states that the Company
intends to provide resold local exchange services utilizing facilities provided by existing local exchange
carriers (LECs).
The Company proposes to provide resold local exchange services throughout the service
areas of Qwest North, Qwest South, and Verizon. The Company currently has no plans to install
facilities in Idaho. The Company does not intend to provide service to areas serviced by small or rural
local exchange carriers.
Velocity is incorporated in Delaware, with authorization from the Secretary of State to
transact business in the State of Idaho. Although the Company does not have an office located in Idaho,
its registered agent for service of process is listed as TCS Corporate Services, Inc. in Boise.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Application be processed by Modified Procedure.
