RE:SILVER STAR COMMUNICATIONS' COMPLIANCE TARIFF FILING
TO INCREASE LOCAL RESIDENTIAL RATES.
On July 30, 2010, Silver Star Communications (Silver Star) submitted a filing to
increase local residential line rates in compliance with Commission Order No. 30951 issued on
December 4 2009. The residential line rates for the Irwin and Wayan exchanges will increase
from $24.10 to $25.76 with an effective date of September 1 , 2010. Silver Star is an Idaho USF
recipient company and submits this filing to meet the minimum threshold rates to receive Idaho
USF funding. Silver Star provided customer notifications in the July and August statements
informing its residential subscribers of the rate increase.
BACKGROUND AND STAFF ANALYSIS
On June 22, 2010, Silver Star filed a request to delay its residential line rate increase until
September 1 2010. The Commission treated the request as a motion and on June 30, 2010
approved Silver Star s delayed implementation request. See Order No. 32021.
Staff has reviewed the filing for compliance with Order Nos. 30951 and 32021 and
recommends approval of the filing with an effective date of September 1 , 2010.
