RE:RURAL TELEPHONE ADVICE LETTER NO. 09-01 REQUESTING
COMMISSION APPROVAL TO ADD VACATION SERVICE FOR ITS
SEASONAL CUSTOMERS.
BACKGROUND
On September 18 2009, GVNW submitted Tariff Advice No. 09-01 for its client, Rural
Telephone Company. Rural Telephone is seeking Commission approval to add vacation service
for its residential customers who use their service on a seasonal basis.
D ISCUSSI
Staff found that the Company has been providing this service since 1999 and that the filing
had been an oversight. When contacted about the oversight, the Company and its consultant were
extremely cooperative and promptly submitted this filing.
RECOMMENDATION AND COMMISSION DECISION
The Company requested an effective date of October 19 2009. Given that the service is
already offered, Staff believes that an effective date of September 21 , 2009 would be appropriate.
