FRANCHISE FEE; TARIFF ADVICE NO. 09-06.
BACKGROUND
On August 20, 2009, Idaho Power Company submitted a tariff advice to accept a new
Ordinance for the City of Star franchise fee and add the City of Filer to the list of cities for which
it collects a franchise fee. The City of Star adopted Ordinance No. 196 on May 21 , 2009 as the
city s new Ordinance to implement its franchise fee. There is no change to the city s current 1
percent franchise fee that has been in place since May 1999. New Ordinance No. 196 replaces
the existing Ordinance No. 21 for the city s franchise agreement. The City of Filer adopted
Ordinance No. 574 on June 16 2009, imposing a franchise fee of2 percent. Copies of the
Ordinances were submitted with the Application. The effective date of charge for the City of
Star is August 20, 2009, and for the City of Filer it is September 30 2009.
ST AFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Commission accept Tariff Advice No. 09-06 for filing with an
effective date of September 20, 2009.
