ADVICE 08-06 REQUESTING AUTHORITY TO INTRODUCE A NEW
SERVICE OFFERING CALLED "BUSINESS UNLIMITED"
REQUESTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF DECEMBER 19, 2008.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
On November 19 2008 , CenturyTel of the Gem State, Inc. ("CenturyTel") filed Tariff
Advice 08-06 requesting Commission approval to introduce a new service called Business
Unlimited.
Business Unlimited is a packaged calling plan for business customers and allows them to
bundle their local service line and unlimited long distance calling minutes based upon the
number oflines a business subscribes to. For customers with 4 - 10 lines, the company is
requiring a 12 month minimum service commitment. The unlimited long distance service must
be provided by CenturyTel Long Distance, LLC for IntraLA T A and InterLA T A toll.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION AND COMMISSION DECISION
Staff has reviewed the proposed new service offering and finds that it gives the Business
consumer a reasonable option for basic local and long distance service and is reasonably priced
so that the Company is recovering its costs.
Staff recommends approval of the Company s Tariff Advice 08-06 with an effective date
of December 19 2008. Does the Commission agree?
