REQUESTING AUTHORITY TO GRANDFATHER ITS SELECT
P AKJBUSINESS ASSIST SERVICE, AND INTRODUCING TWO NEW
ITEMS. REQESTING AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF MARCH 22, 2008.
BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION
On February 21 , 2008 , CenturyTel of Idaho, Inc. ("CenturyTel") filed Tariff Advice 08-
requesting Commission approval to grandfather its Select PakiBusiness Assist Select service to
existing customers at specific locations. Staff contacted the Company on February 25 2008 , to
determine how many customers this filing would affect. After further investigation, the Company
determined that it did not have any customers subscribed to this service and filed an amended
Tariff Advice on February 28, 2008, requesting that this service be deleted from its Tariff service
offerings.
Tariff Advice 08-01 also is requesting Commission approval to introduce two new
services: Caller ID Extra and Caller ID Plus. The Company proposes to offer these two services
to residential customers who subscribe to other Class Calling features. The proposed rates for the
two services will be in addition to the local service rate and will be $10.95 per month for the
Caller ID Extra and $8.95 per month for Caller ID Plus.
The Cost Analysis submitted with the Company s filing shows that it will recover its costs
associated with these new service offerings.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION AND COMMISSION DECISION
Staff has reviewed the proposed new service offerings as well as the Company s rate
design and finds that the Company will be recovering its costs. Because these are discretionary
services Staff recommends approval.
Because there are no customers currently subscribing to the Select Pak/Business Assist
Select service, Staff recommends approval to remove this service from the Company s Tariff.
Staff also recommends approval ofthe Company s Tariff Advice 08-01 and its Addendum
that was filed on February 28 2008 , with an effective date of March 22 2008. Does the
