SUBJECT:DIAMOND BAR EST A TES WATER COMPANY'S APPLICATION TO
INCREASE RATES AND CHARGES - CASE NO. DIA-07-01.
On April 13, 2007, Diamond Bar Estates Water Company filed an Application to
increase the rates and charges for the water service it provides to its customers. The Company
requested an effective date for the new rates and charges of June 1 , 2007. The Commission
suspended the requested effective date and authorized the use of Modified Procedure to process
the Company s Application, setting a comment deadline of August 10, 2007. Order No. 30311.
A public workshop was held on June 20, 2007.
The Commission received written comments filed by Commission Staff as well as
several customers. Several customers expressed a desire at the public workshop to have the
opportunity to comment on the case after they have had a change to review the comments
submitted by Staff, and expressed a desire for a public hearing as the preferred method to do that.
Additionally, two customers made formal requests for a hearing and opposed the use of Modified
Procedure in their written comments.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to schedule a public hearing in this matter where public
testimony could be taken regarding the Company s Application and Staff s Comments?
If not, in the alternative, does the Commission wish to establish a formal deadline for
the submission of responsive comments.
