SBC-04-01 FOR SOUTHWESTERN BELL COMMUNICATIONS
SERVICES, INc., D/B/A! SBC LONG DISTANCE.
BACKGROUND
On April 4, 2007, the Commission received notification to cancel Certificate No. 426 that
was issued to Southwestern Bell Communications Services, Inc., d/b/a SBC Long Distance on
May 11 , 2004. See Order No. 29495. In its request to withdraw its certificate the Company gave
a brief description of the various business transactions that have occurred and ultimately lead to
this request.
DISCUSSION
On May 11 , 2004 in Case No. SBC- T -04-1 this Commission granted SBC Long Distance
a certificate to provide resold and facilities-based local exchange and exchange access services in
Idaho. See Order No. 29495.
On November 8, 2004, Southwestern Bell Communications Services, Inc., notified the
Commission of a change of its name to SBC Long Distance, Inc.
On November 23 2004, Southwestern Bell Communications Services, Inc., notified the
Commission of a corporate reorganization, which included the conversion of SBC Long
Distance, Inc. to a limited liability company to be known as SBC Long Distance, LLC.
On May 23 2005, the Commission issued its First Amended Certificate No. 426, to
reflect the conversion of the Company to a limited liability company.

On December 19 2005 , SBC LD notified the Commission of its new d/b/a "AT&T Long
Distance.
SBC LD states that its current request to cancel its certificate is a result of recent changes
in its business arrangements in Idaho and that is does not provide local exchange services to any
customers within the state. As the Company points out, because there are currently no customers
in Idaho there are no notification requirements.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staffhas reviewed the request and agrees that there will be no customers impacted by the
cancellation ofthis certificate and recommends approval to cancel Certificate No. 426. Does the
Commission agree?
