On October 17, 2006 , CenturyTel submitted two tariff advices: CenturyTel of the Gem State Advice No. 06-08 and CenturyTel ofIdaho Advice No. 06-07. These tariff advices replace the current vacation service products with the Company s Vacation Number Reservation Service. CenturyTel of the Gem State s current product is called Facility Reservation Service, while CenturyTel of Idaho s current service is simply called Vacation Service. The charges a customer will incur under the newly named service are essentially the same as would be incurred under the current service. The primary difference is a change to the length of time the service may be continued, as well as the number of months of regular service that is required between periods of number reservation service. The Company is trying to standardize these time frames throughout its system. The Company initially requested a November 16 2006 effective date, which was extended to November 30. ST AFF ANALYSIS The Company does not expect any change in revenues due to these changes. The revised terms would not disqualify any existing current users of vacation service, and may allow more customers to qualify for the service. It would also allow current users to split a long vacation period into two shorter periods, with a period of full service in the middle. As the changes increase the flexibility for both starting and stopping vacation service, the Company does not DECISION MEMORANDUM - 1 -NOVEMBER 14, 2006 expect a significant change in the net number of months of service at the reduced rates. Staff agrees that any changes would be minimal. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends the Commission approve these CenturyTel tariff advices.
