RE:QWEST TARIFF ADVICE REVISING TELEPHONE SERVICE
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO REFLECT INCREASE IN FEDERAL
SUBSCRIBER LINE CHARGE CREDIT. ADVICE NO. 05-04-
On June 20 2005, Qwest filed a tariff advice for Southern Idaho increasing the federal
credit that is provided to qualifying customers that participate in the Idaho Telephone Service
Assistance Program (ITSAP). The federal lifeline program provides for a waiver of the federal
subscriber line charge for qualifying customers, plus an additional $3., which is matched by
the state contribution of $3.50 in Idaho. The amount of the federal subscriber line charge is
company specific, and is based upon a formula developed by the FCC. Tariffs for this charge are
filed with the FCC. Qwest filed an increase from $6.33 to $6.34 in this charge on June 16
effective July 1. This tariff advice increases the ITSAP credits to reflect this increase in the
subscriber line charge.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the Commission approve this Advice.
