RE:CHANGE OF NAME ON CERTIFICATE NO. 426 FROM SBC LONG
DISTANCE, INC. TO SBC LONG DISTANCE LLC
On May 4, 2005, the Commission received a notice from a representative of SBC Long
Distance LLC, formerly known as SBC Long Distance, Inc., informing the Commission that the
Company had consummated the internal corporate reorganization described in two letters
previously sent to the Commission on November 17 2004 and February 14, 2005. Pursuant
this internal corporate reorganization SBC Long Distance, formerly a corporation, converted to a
limited liability company, and the assets of SBC Telecom, Inc. - an affiliate of SBC Long
Distance were transferred to SBC Long Distance.
The Company requested that the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity
(CPCN) issued to SBC Long Distance, Inc. by Order 29495 in Case No. SBC-04-1 be revised
to reflect the restructuring and the new name of SBC Long Distance, LLC d/b/a SBC Long
Distance.
The Company provided a copy of its amended Certificate of Authority issued by the
Secretary of State, as well as a new bond reflecting the new name. It requested the previous
bond, No 6259870, be returned so that it may be cancelled.

Staff recommends the Commission approve the Company s request to change the name
on the certificate from SBC Long Distance, Inc. to SBC Long Distance, LLC d/b/a SBC Long
Distance and return bond No. 6259870 to the Company.
