RE:VERIZON TARIFF ADVICE DISCONTINUING TWO UNUSED
SERVICES ADVICE NO. 05-
On Aprill , 2005 , Verizon filed a tariff advice to discontinue offering Interim Inter-
switch Signaling Protocol and Direct fiber facilities with Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)
Cell Relay Services (CRS). The Company indicated there were no customers currently
subscribing to either service.
The Interim Inter-switch Signaling Protocol Service is available in the Company
interstate tariff, and experience has indicated that the percentage of interstate usage essentially
always indicates that the product is interstate, and not intrastate. This advice removes the
product from the intrastate tariff.
The. other product, direct fiber facilities with Asynchronous Transfer Mode Cell Relay
Services, is one of two options for connecting fiber to an ATM switch. The current prices for the
electronic parts required for the direct connection are expensive, and make this option
uneconomical, and the Company had so few customers throughout the nation that it has decided
to no longer support this option. The Company indicated no Idaho customer had ever requested
this product.
As there are no current customers for either product, there is no fiscal impact to the
changes.
