RE:ACIFICORP REQUEST FOR AN INCREASE IN ITS RETURNED
CHECK CHARGE FROM $10.00 TO $20.00.
OVERVIEW
The proposed charge is for each instance where a customer tenders payment of utility
service with an insufficient funds check, a check issued on a closed account, etc. This charge is
allowable under state statute (I.C. Section 28-22-105). PacifiCorp dba Utah Power & Light
Company is requesting an increase in its check charge from $10 to $20, the maximum amount
allowed under statute.
STAFF ANALYSIS AND RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of the proposed increase. The proposed $20 charge is
consistent with returned check charges approved for Idaho Power, A vista, and Intermountain Gas
Company.
COMMISSION DECISION
Does the Commission wish to approve PacifiCorp s proposed increase in its returned
