HomeMy WebLinkAbout20030509_454.pdfDECISION MEMORANDUM TO:COMMISSIONER KJELLANDER COMMISSIONER SMITH COMMISSIONER HANSEN COMMISSION SECRETARY COMMISSION STAFF LEGAL WORKING FILE FROM:BIRDELLE BROWN DATE:MAY 5, 2003 RE:CENTURYTEL OF THE GEM STATE ADVICE 03-4 TO INTRODUCE SIMPLE CHOICE AND ADVANCED CALLING SERVICE, EFFECTIVE MAY 18, 2003 CenturyTel of the Gem State filed this Tariff Advice to add advanced calling features and three new packaged services called Simple Choice One, Simple Choice One with Voice Mail and Voice Mail Complementary Services. The new advanced calling features will include Caller ill, Privacy Protector, Anonymous Call Reject, Selective Call Accept, Selective Call Forward, Selective Call Rejection and other features. Call Trace will be provided on a per-activation basis for a $1.00 per activation with a maximum of five traces per month and will not replace existing tracing procedures. Per-call and per-line blocking will be available with Caller ill. Simple Choice One provides an access line and a selection of 24 custom and advanced calling features for a business rate of $49.95 per month and a residential rate of 34.95 per month. Simple Choice One with Voice Mail provides an access line, the same features as the Simple Choice One plan and a voice mail box for a monthly business rate of$57.95 and a monthly residential rate of$37.95. Nonrecurring charges will not apply for installation of the features for the Simple Choice One plans. Voice Mail Complementary Services provides Call Forward No Answer, Call Forward Busy and Message Waiting Indication for a monthly business rate of $3.00 per line and a monthly residential rate of $2.00 per line. Existing custom calling packages are being discontinued and grandfathered to existing customers. DECISION MEMORANDUM - 1 -MAY 5, 2003 CenturyTel of the Gem State has filed data to show that it will recover its costs for these new services and plans. STAFF RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends approval of this tariff advice, effective May 18 , 2003.
