RE:CRYSTAL COMMUNICATIONS, INc. REQUEST TO CANCEL ITS
CERTIFICATE OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY NO. 340
On behalf of Crystal Communications, Inc., HickoryTech has filed a request dated
October 15 2002, to cancel Crystal's Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity No. 340.
This Certificate was issued by Order No. 27503 on May 11, 1998, authorizing the Company to
provide local telecommunications service in the areas served by U S WEST and GTE.
Crystal Communications, Inc. was reorganized and now does business as HickoryTech
but the Company has never amended its certificate. The Company advises the Commission that
Crystal Communications, Inc. has never conducted business nor has any business plans to
implement telecommunications services in Idaho.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that Certificate No. 340 be withdrawn. Does the Commission agree?
