RE:IDAHO POWER TARIFF ADVICE 07-09; REVISION TO SCHEDULE 81
RESIDENTIAL AIR CONDITIONER CYCLING PROGRAM.
Filed December 20,2007, with January 20, 2008, requested effective date.
Currently Idaho Power s residential air conditioning cycling program tariff states that the
program is available in the "
...
entire counties of Ada and Canyon and the Emmett area as defined
by the Company.
This tariff advice proposes to amend that language to allow the program to be available in
the "
...
Company s service territory within the StateofIdaho where the infrastructure required to
support AC Cycling has been installed and is operational."
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
In the advice letter, Idaho Power said it intends to first expand this program toward the
Oregon border and later toward Twin Falls. A Company representative assured me that cost-
effectiveness would be analyzed before geographic expansions occur.
This tariff change will allow the Company to recruit and enroll residential customers into
the program as soon as facilities are available, without having to wait for a tariff change to filed
and approved.
I recommend approval.
