RE: Construction Plans and Specifications - Conditionally Approved; Phase I Water
Construction Plans and Specifications - Conditionally Approved; Well #3
Record Drawings - Accepted; Phase I Sewer
Schweitzer Village/Acme Water Works
Dear Mr. Wahlin:
Construction plans and specifications, submitted by Eric Eldenberg, P.8., of J.A. Sewell& Associates, to
DEQ on June 30, 2008 for drinking water improvements of Phase I and Well #3 have been reviewed.
Record drawings for Phase I of the sewer improvements have also been reviewed. Schweitzer Village is a
new subdivision on Schweitzer Mountain designed for260 residences on 107 lots serving approximately650
people. Water is provided by wells, and sewer services are provided by Mountain Utility Company. Phase I
of the project provides service to approximately 40 lots.
The plans and specifications for Phase I of the drinking water improvements have been reviewed and are
hereby conditionally approved for construction purposes in accordance with the ldaho Rules for Public
Drinking Water Systems and Wastewater Rules, and Section 39- I l8 of ldaho Code. To be in compliance
with the IRPDWS, the following conditions must be satisfied prior to the completion of the project, and a
short summary of these conditions and their implementation should be submitted by the engineer when
record drawings are submitied ior the projeui:
1. Standby storage and fire storage have been nested for this project. That may mean that fire
storage is unavailable under certain circumstances. It is understood that the Fire Chief has
allowed this and it is acceptable to DEQ. A letter from the Fire Chief accepting nesting for this
project will need to be submitted to DEQ.
2. Profile and plan views on Sheet 2.14 indicate single and double connections. The two views
need to be consistent. Record drawings will need to show the proper change.
3. The overflow for the airlvacuum release valve shown on Sheet 2.31 must be a minimum of 12
inches above grade. This will need to be completed during construction and record drawings will
need to reflect the change.
