REQUEST OF THE
COMMISSION STAFF
Comes now, T-Mobile West Corporation ("T-Mobile"), by and through its
attorneys, Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP, and hereby submits its response to the First Production
Request of Commission Staff, dated March 28, 20 1 1.
Request No.1: Please explain how the AT&T and T -Mobile merger will affect T-
Mobile's Application for Designation as an Eligible Telecommuncations Carier.
T-Mobile's Response: On March 20, 2011, AT&T anounced plans to acquire T-
Mobile USA, including all of its wholly-owned subsidiaries, subject to securing necessary
governent approvals. Notwithstanding the proposed transaction and as detaled in its
application, T-Mobile West Corporation ("T-Mobile") wil be the designated ETC legal entity
with the obligations and responsibilties of a universal service provider in Idaho. T-Mobile is
fully committed to advancing universal service by serving the basic and advanced
communications needs of rual and low income consumers in Idaho.
