RE:IDAHO POWER TARIFF ADVICE INCREASING GARDEN CITY
FRANCHISE FEE; TARIFF ADVICE 06-06.
On August 21 , 2006, Idaho Power Company submitted a tariff advice to increase the
amount of the franchise fee for electrical service in the City of Garden City. The franchise fee
was increased by Ordinance No. 850-06 from 1 % to 3%. The Company submitted a copy of the
City of Garden City Ordinance with its Application. The Company indicated that Garden City
provided notice to citizens in accordance with its legal requirements, and that the Company
would also provide a bill message to affected customers in the billing prior to the fee becoming
effective. The Company requested an effective date of September 27 2006.
Per Idaho Code ~ 50-329A, franchise fees are limited to 1 %, unless the utility has agreed
to a maximum of 3%. Here, the Company has agreed.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the Commission accept this Tariff Advice for filing.
