RE:POTLATCH TELEPHONE COMPANY, ADVICE LETTER NO. 05-02P
REQUESTING COMMISSION AUTHORITY TO REVISE ITS ACCOUNT
RETENTION SERVICE TO EXCLUDE MILITARY PERSONNEL WHO
ARE ON ACTIVE DUTY.
BACKGROUND
On March 15, 2005, Potlatch Telephone Company filed its tariff advice requesting
Commission approval to omit military personnel who are on active duty from the ten (10) month
maximum time limit, as set forth in its Account Retention Service Tariff.
DISCUSSION
Currently a customer may retain current phone number and associated services when they
temporarily disconnect service. When the customer reconnects service they receive the same
phone number and associated services they previously held.
The Company charges a monthly rate of $5.00 per line on an account that is on account
retention. Upon the customer request to activate the service, subsequent service order charges
and central office charges apply for reconnect to regular service.
The Company requests that the tariff change omit military personnel from the maximum
ten (10) month account retention requirement.
