Larson, President Oregon Pacific & Eastern Railroad Company 161 Millsview Lane Roseburg, OR 97470 RE:Abandonment of the BNSF Right-of-Way Dear Mr. Larson: Pursuant to our telephone conversation yesterday, I have enclosed for your review a copy of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission s abandonment notice. As indicated in the notice, the majority of the trackin this 2.12-milesegmentwas removed in the 1980s. Consequently,this rail segment was effectively abandoned nearly 20 years ago ' and thereareno shippers ontheliIie. r have attached a map ofthe line to be abandoned (in bold). As I mentioned in our conversation, you may be more interested in the existing track beginning at milepost 12.33 and continuing on to Spokane, Washington. This segment of track runs along the Coeur d' Alene River and does contain several existing shippers. If you do file an offer of financial assistance with the Surface Transportation Board, please send me a copy.
