CASE INT-G-23-04
SECOND PRODUCTION REQUEST OF THE COMMISSION STAFF
Preparer/Sponsoring Witness: Jacob
Darrington/Lori Blattner
REQUEST NO. 10:
Please explain if the Company considered moving the recovery of the over-refunded
Residential Energy Efficiency Funds of $686,777 as shown on Exhibit No. 13 to the Energy
Efficiency balancing account? If not, why not?
RESPONSE NO. 10:
The Company did consider moving the recovery of the over-refunded Residential Energy
Efficiency Funds of $686,777 to the Energy Efficiency balancing account. However, since the
over-refunded amount was related to the refund balance which the Commission had previously
approved to be passed back in the PGA (Case No. INT-G-22-04), and to avoid confusion by
requesting authority to move the over-refunded balance back to the Energy Efficiency balancing
account, the Company determined to keep the over-refunded balance in the PGA. Additionally,
the Company thought it wise to net the recovery of this amount with the overall PGA decrease.
The Company notes that the over-refunded status of the Residential Energy Efficiency Funds
was due to higher than normal therm sales during the 2022-2023 PGA year.
