Intermountain Gas Company ("Intermountain", "Company"), in response to the First
Production Request of the City of Boise to Intermountain Gas Company dated October 10,2022,
submits the information below.
REQUEST NO. 1: The Company's response to Staff s Second Production Request No.
20 indicated 2l electric furnaces were replaced in Program Year 21. Please provide the following:
o The underlying data, analysis, and assumptions for any therm savings affributed to electric
furnaces replaced with 95% AFUE gas furnaces in Program Year 21.
o The total rebate amount paid to customers for the 2l electric furnaces replaced with a95%o
AFUE gas furnace from Energy Efficiency Charge funding.
RESPONSE TO REQUEST NO. 1:
Please refer to part c) of the Company's response to Production Request No. 20 for
further detail regarding the annual therms savings estimates for the 95o/o AFUE natural gas
furnace. Intermountain's program does not provide an incentive designed to encourage
customers to choose a naturalgas appliance in place of an electric appliance. Rather, once
customers have made a choice to install a natural gas appliance, Intermountain encourages any
customer purchasing a natural gas appliance to purchase one that is high-efficient, rather than a
lower efficiency option.
