RE:Intermountain Gas Company
Case No.s INT-07-0l & INT-07-
Dear Ms. Jewell:
There are two (2) Formal Complaints currently pending for consideration before the Idaho Public Utilities
Commission; Case No. INT-07-, or the Leseberg Complaint, and Case No. INT-07-, or the
Willson DBA Custom Towing & Recovery Complaint. Both of the these Complaints include remedies
sought by Intermountain pursuant to the application of Rule 204 of the Utility Customer Relations Rules
(Inaccurately Billed Service Under Correct Tariff Schedule - Failure To Bill For Service.
By way of perspectives, since the year 2000 there have been three (3) Formal Complaints (one thousandth
of one percent 0.001 % ofIntermountain s customer base) filed with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission
that pertained to the application of Rule 204. Since November, 2006, Intermountain was made aware of 24
(eight thousandth of one percent 0.008% of Intermountain s customer base) informal complaints of this
nature. Currently we believe there to be only (1) informal complaint in progress applicable to Rule 204.
Intermountain believes one measure of performance of its overall commitment to customer service is the
number of customers who complain, informally or otherwise, regarding their billed service. While the
above comparative percentages have remained very low, Intermountain Gas Company has nonetheless
undeliaken an internal review of the manner in which it addresses our customers' concerns for inaccurately
billed service, the Company s responsibility for those billing inaccuracies, and the remedies sought under
the applIcation of the above Rule.
Intermountain Gas Company does not know at this time the specific recommendations that will soon come
forth pursuant to this aforementioned internal review and how those recommendations would or would not
have impacted the customers concerned in the above referenced Cases. However, Intermountain believes
that in fairness to those customers impacted directly by the above Case numbers, the Company does hereby
respectfully withdraw its valid claims to bill for these past due amounts pursuant to Rule 204 and agrees to
resolve these matters directly with the Lesebergs and Mr. Willson.
Intermountain will take immediate steps to resolve the outstanding issues with the Lesebergs and Mr.
Willson and will report back to the Commission Staff the outcome of those efforts.
If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact me directly at (208) 377-6168.
