In this discussion, please explain whether Hydro One has taken over distressed small distribution systems at the direction of Ontario.RESPONSE:Below is a list of the local electricity distribution companies acquired by Hydro One (through its direct or indirect subsidiaries) since 1998, in each case following receipt of regulatory approval of the transaction by the Ontario Energy Board (“OEB”). The list identifies which purchases were share purchases (“SPA”) and which were asset purchases (“APA”). The list also specifies the number of customers affected (acquired by Hydro One), the year of closing and the assigned OEB File Number. transaction, Hydro One also acquired one electricity transmission company, Great Lakes Power Transmission LP (“Great Lakes Power”), operating along the eastern shore of Lake Superior, north and east of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. On January 16, 2017, Great Lakes Power’s name was changed to Hydro One Sault Ste. Marie LP. Hydro One has taken over operation of one distressed utility - Cat Lake. Hydro One Networks Inc. currently holds an interim license issued by the OEB under Section 59(2) of the Ontario Energy Board Act, 1998 under which Hydro One Networks Inc. has possession and control over distribution assets that serve the community of Cat Lake, Ontario.  The interim license was first issued by the OEB on July 21, 2006 and its term has since been amended and extended regularly for sequential terms of three months each.
