RE:VERIZON'S ADVICE NO. 04-01 OFFERING OF SPEED DIAL 8 AND
SPEED DIAL 30 IN A LOCAL PACKAGE.
On January 16 2004, the Commission received Advice No. 04-01 from Verizon
Northwest, Inc. In this filing, Verizon proposes to offer its customers the option of Speed Dial 8
or Speed Dial 30 in Local Package and change the name of this package to Verizon Local
Package Extra sm. The filing also offers customers the options of Speed Dial 8 or Speed Dial 30
in Local Package Standard and changes the name of that package to Verizon Local Package sm.
Verizon states that making these options available as part of these packages does not
impact the rate or forecasted subscription so there is no revenue impact for this filing.
STAFF REVIEW
Staff has reviewed the proposed changes to Verizon s I.P.u.C. No.8 tariff and accepts
that there will be no revenue impact associated with this filing. Local Package and Local
Package Extra allow customers to choose any three calling services from fourteen options such
as Caller ill, Call Forwarding, etc. Speed Dial 8 and Speed Dial 30 would simply be included in
those fourteen options. Verizon has asked for an effective date of February 21 2004 and Staff
recommends approval ofVerizon s Advice No. 04-01.
COMMISSION DECISION
Should the Commission approve Verizon s Advice No. 04-01?
