CARRIERS LETTER ON TO REVISE MIDV ALE, ALBION AND
FREMONT ACCESS RATES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMMIS-
SION'S USF ORDER NO. 29324, EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 31,2003
Midvale, Albion and Fremont telephone companies were required by the Commission to
reduce their access rates to the statewide Universal Service Fund threshold in order to continue
to be eligible to receive money from the Fund.
According to the USF Administrator s report, Albion needed to reduce its toll switched
access rates revenue by $14 114 (8%); Fremont needed to reduce its rates by $13 813 (9%), and
Midvale needed to reduce its rates by $17 294 (14%) to bring its rates to statewide average.
Albion reduced its Carrier Common Line (CCL) rate from $0.01 to $0.00913 per minute and its
transport and switching rates from $0.01827 to $0.001586 per minute. Fremont decreased its
CCL rate from $0.01 to $0.005094 per minute. Midvale reduced its CCL rate from .014 per
minute to .0065 per minute. At these rates, each of these companies will approach the statewide
average for switched access rates.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval of these tariffadvices that change Midvale, Albion and
Fremont access rates in compliance with Commission Order 29324 effective October 31 2003.
