RE:QWEST TARIFF ADVICE 03-08-N TO REVISE THE TERMS AND
CONDITIONS OF DIGITAL SWITCHED SERVICES IN NORTHERN
IDAHO, EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 30, 2003
Qwest filed this tariff advice to revise the terms and conditions of Primary Rate Service
(PRS), Digital Switched Services (DSS) and Uniform Access Solution (UAS). The revision
provides that these services may terminate at an Interexchange Carrier Point of Presence (IXC
POP) for data service only, terminating on the Internet by an Internet Service Provider (ISP).
Voice service may not terminate at the IXC POP.
Qwest advises that this filing simply clarifies the terms and conditions under which
customers can purchase these data services. Once this filing becomes effective, only customers
purchasing DSS, UAS and PRS may terminate this service at the IXC POP, and presumably, this
is what customers will want. Qwest says this tariff does not affect the provisioning or
engineering of its products. There are no modifications to rates.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends approval. Does the Commission agree?
