Ted Weston Manager, Regulation Enclosures RECEIVED 2021July 21, AM 10:14 IDAHO PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION PAC-E-21-14 / Rocky Mountain Power July 21, 2021 IPUC Data Request 1 IPUC Data Request 1 The proposed Power Purchase Agreement lists the Facility's nameplate capacity rating at 2.95 megawatts (MW), while the nameplate capacity rating in the 1985 contract lists the Facility's nameplate capacity rating at 2.70 MW. Please explain the difference between these two amounts. In the response, please indicate if the Facility's nameplate capacity rating has been 2.95 MW since initial construction and whether the Facility has ever been upgraded. Response to IPUC Data Request 1 Please refer to the proposed power purchase agreement (PPA) provided with the Company’s application, specifically Exhibit B (Description of Seller’s Facility). The facility nameplate capacity was confirmed from the included licensed engineer one-line diagram. The facility owner has indicated to the Company that there has been no modification to the generator since the original install and explained the 2.7 megawatts (MW) in the original PPA dated May 21, 1985 was an estimate of potential output at build. Please refer to “Facility Nameplate Capacity Rating” which states 2,950 kilowatts (2.95 MW), and to the licensed engineer one-line diagram. Response to IPUC Data Request 2 Please refer to the table below which provides the calculated average annual megawatts (MW), based on actual generation, for each year from 1997 through 2020 for the original 1985 power purchase agreement (PPA) with Mink Creek Hydro, LLC. Data prior to 1997 is not readily available. How is the contribution determined? Response to IPUC Data Request 3 In PacifiCorp’s 2019 Integrated Resource Plan (IRP), the peak capacity contribution for the Mink Creek power purchase agreement (PPA) was 1.02 megawatts (MW). The contribution was determined from the resource’s generation, in megawatt-hours (MWh), for the year and divided by the hours in the year to calculate the average MW (aMW).
