In Painter's work papers [PAC-E-21-09 CONFIDENTLAL Workpapers 3-31-21],
please explain the 439,801 megawatt-hour difference in the referenced total Net
System Load identified in Cell "Fl80u, Tab "Adjusted Actual NPC" to the
summed monthly values for Total Company Load in Cells "Bl1:Ml 1", Tab "ID
Acfual Loads".
Response to IPUC Data Request L
Referencing confidential work paper "PAC-E-2 1 -09 CONFIDENTIAL
Workpapers 3-31-21", tab "Adjusted Actual NPC", the'Net System Load"
identified in cell "Fl80" includes megawatt-hours (MWh) for Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounting entries categorized as FERC
Account 447 (Sales), FERC Account 555 (Purchases), and the Company's own
generation. This "Net System Load" quantity uses electronically tagged schedules
to determine volumes received and delivered at PacifiCorp's interchange points.
The "Total Company Load" in tab "ID Actual Loads", cells "B11:MI1",
determines net system load using actual interchange meters to determine volumes
received and delivered at interchange points rather than electronically tagged
schedules. The flow of MWhs on an interchange meter cannot be attributed to
specific purchase and sale agreements.
