IPUC Data Request 86 - I't Supplemental
IPUC Data Request 86
Please provide a detailed description of the Company's weather/temperature
normalization method used to normalize revenues, system peak, energy loads, net
power costs, and any other items normalized by this method. Please include any
work papers supporting the weather/temperature normalization method for each
item that is normalized.
I't Supplemental Response to IPUC Data Request 86
Further to the Company's response to IPUC Data Request 86 dated August 5,
2021, and referencing the telephone conference held with the ldaho Public
Utilities Commission (IPUC) staff on September 7,2021, the Company provides
the following supplemental information:
Please refer to Confidential Attachment IPUC 86 I't Supplemental which provides
the 2019 and2020 monthly and weather spline models. The monthly models
include the residential class use per day per customer, commercial use per day and
irrigation use per day models. The residential use per day per customer is
multiplied by the actual number of customers in the calculation of the weather
adjustment.
Weather spline models are used to determine the weighting of heating degree days
(HDD) and cooling degree days (CDD) used in the heating and cooling variables.
Please refer to Confidential Attachment IPUC 86 I't Supplemental, specifically
folder *2019 Weather Normalization", file *2019 Weather Adjustment
Calculation", for the details of the calculation of the weather adjustment for 2019.
Please refer to the Company's response to IIPA Data Request 27, specifically
Confidential Attachment IIPA 27-2 for the details of the calculation of the
weather adjustment for 2020.
