IPUC Data Request 3
Please provide any changes that the Company has made to its annual GWh load
forecast data, if any, from the data used in the 2019Integrated Resource Plan in
PAC-E-19-16 and explain why the changes were made.
Response to IPUC Data Request 3
The June 2020load forecast has a slight decrease in usage in the front end,
compared to the loads in the20lg lntegrated Resource Plan, due to adverse
economic impacts resulting from the COVID-I9 pandemic. Over the twenty-year
forecast there is an increase in load compared to the load forecast provided in
Case No. PAC-E-19-16. A higher forecast in the later years is driven by projected
residential demand, transportation elecfiification and commercial customer
demand from data centers.

IPUC Data Request 5
Please provide the Company's Official Forward Price Curve data used in the 2019
Integrated Resource Plan in PAC-E-19-16 in the same format as Table 2 in the
Application in PAC-E-20-16.
Response to IPUC Data Request 5
The Company's 20lg lntegrated Resource Plan (IRP) included a range of natural
gas and gr."nhour" gas price-policy cases. At the time PacifiCorp's 2019 IRP
modeling was initiated, the September 2018 offrcial forward price curve (OFPC)
was the most current OFPC available. The September 2018 OFPC does not
assume any carbon dioxide policy or tax in conjunction with a medium nahtral
gas price forecast.
The September 2018 OFPC was previously provided as part of Table.2 in the
Company's annual update application in Case PAC-E-I8-09. That filing is
publicly available and can be accessed by the following website link:

Please provide the changes that the company has made to the official Forward
Price curve data, if any, from the one used in the 20lg lntegrated Resource plan
in PAC-E-19-16 to the one filed in PAC-E-20-16, and expliin why changes were
made.
The company produces an official forward price curve (oFpc) typically on the
last business day of each calendar quarter (March, June, Septe-uei, *d
December). The September 2018 OFPC was the most recent OFPC available at
the time that Pacificorp's 20lg lntegrated Resource plan was being produced.
The September 2020 OFPC was the most recent OFPC available aitlre time that
the Application in this proceeding (case No. pAC-E-20-16)was compiled andfiled with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission.
Pacificorp's OFPC is developed using 36 months of natural gas and electic
market forward prices followed by 12 months of a forwards-fundamentals blend
that transitions to a pure fundamentals-based forecast starting in month 49.
PacifiCorp uses market forwards (from broker quotes and / or settled forward
prices) for the first 36 months since they are observable and represent a consensus
view of the market. Starting month 49, the oFpC is no longer rooted in market
expectations, as with market forwards, but instead in supply and demand balances
as forecast by AuroraXmp@ (AURORA), a Westem Electricity Coordinating
council wide production cost simulation model. AURORA roir., to optimiie
total cost subject to operating and transmission consfaints. AURORA3 output is
generated at the monthly level for heavyJoad and light-load periods; hourly
prices are then generated by the application of hourly scalars to AURoRA;s
monthly output.

please identifu factors that make it difficult to submit these update filings earlier
to allow processing prior to an October 15 efflective date'
Response to IPUC Data Request 7
The Company relies on an automated system for notifications of when routine
reports are due, unfortunately the wrong filing date was in the system. This
information has been updated, and the Company will make every effort to avoid
this delay in the future.
