IPUC Data Request 5
Since the QF installed the 7.45 MW nameplate capacity, has the Company
encountered actual capacity deficiency periods? Please provide a list all
generation facilities or power purchase agreements that were added to meet the
need for capacity during the any periods of deficiency.
Response to IPUC Data Request 5
Since the original power purchase agreement (PPA) between Bonneville Pacific
Corporation and Utah Power and Light Company (UP&L) dated December 4,
1984, the Company has encountered actual capacrty deficiency periods. For
example, immediately prior to ldaho Public Utilities Commission (IPUC) Order
33425 dated December 15,2015 in Case PAC-E-15-12, the Company's capacity
deficiency under the Surrogate Avoided Resource (SAR) methodology was
assumed to begin in 2013. Please refer to Attachment IPUC 5 for a list of long-
term resources added since 2007 that are delivering to the Company now or are
contracted to do so in the future.
