With respect to the “PAC - ASLREMLIFE – FinalRpt” Summary Table in the UM 1968 filing, the filing lists a “survival-curve” type of R2.5 and Projection-life of 55 years (55-R2.5) under the OTHER PRODUCTION PLANT, FERC Account 343 - PRIME MOVERS – 2007 WIND. With respect to this entry, please respond to the
below: (a) Please explain whether the data in the “FERC 343 PRIME MOVERS – 2007 WIND” account includes only wind turbines, or whether it also includes wind rotors, generators, or any other type of plant.
(b) Please explain whether the data in FERC 343 PRIME MOVERS – Wind includes or does not include gas combustion turbine plant. (c) As filed, the proposed projected service life for wind turbines is 55 years with a curve
type of R2.5 under the account 343 PRIME MOVERS – 2007 WIND. Please confirm this is what was intended. Response to OPUC Data Request 11
The company assumes that OPUC Staff is referring to file, “PAC – ASLREMLIFE – FinalRpt – East Plant,” (and specifically, rows 697, 705, 712, 720, 728, 736, 744, and 752 in that file) which is part of John Spanos’s work papers that were provided as Attachment OPUC 1 in this proceeding. Based on this assumption, the company responds as follows:
(a) The data includes: wind towers, tower foundations, rotor head assemblies, shafts, turbine blades, gearbox assemblies, and yaw gear assemblies. (b) The data does not include gas combustion turbine plant. (c) Yes, this is what was intended.
