(b) Fill out the table below by listing each generating unit and providing all requested information for each generating unit listed (see Exhibit PAC/202, Spanos/43). Generating Unit Name In Service Date Probable Retirement Date Study Date Decommissioning Date (c) Was the “DECOMMISSIONING COST” used to calculate “Weighted NS-% of Total Ret.”? (See work paper labeled “PAC - Production Net Salvage Analysis - Oregon Plant”). Please explain how, and in your response, please provide all data references and calculations for the Oregon share of decommissioning cost. Response to OPUC Data Request 6 (a) Please refer to Attachment OPUC 6-1 for a decommissioning study summary in support of the company’s docket UM 1968 filing. (b) Please refer to Attachment OPUC 6-2. (c) Yes, the decommissioning costs were used in the calculation of the weighted net salvage percent, as shown in column 6 of Attachment OPUC 6-3. The “Total Demolition” cost plus the “Total Environmental” cost from Attachment OPUC 6-1 equals the decommissioning costs in Attachment OPUC 6-3. In Attachment OPUC 6-3, the decommissioning costs are divided by the estimated terminal retirements, resulting in the terminal retirements’ net salvage percentage. The calculated interim removal costs are divided by the estimated interim retirements, resulting in the interim retirements’ net salvage percentage. The sum of the interim removal costs and the decommissioning costs are divided by the sum of the interim retirements and terminal retirements, resulting in the total net salvage percentage. See Attachment OPUC 6-3 for the Oregon allocation of the decommissioning costs.
