Response to WPSC Data Request 6.6 As with today's system, the system is stable and reliable when the wind generation is not available.Heavy transfers and system stress are minimal when the wind generation is not available.A technical demonstration of this system performance is part of the system operating limits (SOL)studies, which are performed on an established basis for peak reliability. An SOL study will be performed for the new Aeolus West path prior to operation of the Energy Gateway sub-segment D.2 in 2020.Please refer to Confidential Attachment WPSC 6.6 for a copy of the 2017 TOT 4A/TOT 4B SOL study. Response to WPSC Data Request 6.7 As indicated in the Company's response to WPSC Data Request 6.6,no specific power flow studies have been performed to evaluate a no wind generation condition. However,a System Operating Limit study will be conducted prior to 2020 and as with today's system, the system will be designed such that it is stable and reliable when the wind generationis not available. Respondents:Craig Quist /Robyn Kara Witness:Rick Vail 20000-520-EA-17 /Rocky Mountain Power March 6,2018 WPSC Data Request 6.8 WPSC Data Request 6.8 Please provide the most recent studies,and/or explain the Company's expectations regarding the diversityof Wyomingwind resources. Response to WPSC Data Request 6.8 Expected output from all wind resources is captured in the Company's economic analysis of the Combined Projects. The effects of low wind and high wind generation are considered and captured in the new wind and transmission project analysis by the wind shapes applied in the System Optimizer model (SO model)and the Planning and Risk (PaR)model. The diversityof these wind shapes accounts for location, turbine technology, and project size. The table below reports the physical proximityof the inning bids relative to each other.
