RE:CENTURYTEL OF THE GEM STATE ADVICE 2003-02 TO PROVIDE
NATIONAL DIRECTORY ASSISTANCE SERVICE AND CALL
COMPLETION, EFFECTIVE MARCH 4, 2003
CenturyTel ofthe Gem State has filed this tariff advice proposing to provide National
Directory Assistance Service that will provide directory services for local and interstate numbers.
CenturyTel proposes to charge $.85 per call. The current rate for local directory assistance is
50 per call, which does not cover the Company s costs. The Company will also provide Call
Completion where facilities allow. Call Completion permits a call to be completed to a number
the customer requested from directory assistance for $.35 per call.
CenturyTel has provided cost support data that shows the Company will recover its costs
at these rates.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
This is the same rate the Commission previously approved for Rural Communications
and Direct Communications for the enhanced directory assistance. Staff recommends approval.
