With regard to the attachment provided in response to liP A 40, please explain
how this workpaper is used to derive the specific monthly substation peak
weighting factors and percentages contained in the cost-of-service model COS 1D
GRC DEC 10.xlsm, worksheet Dist. Factor, EXCEL rows 75 and 76. To the
extent additional or intermediate calculations are necessary, please provide the
workpaper(s) showing the calculations.
Response to PIle Data Request 103
The 2009 substation peaks (i.e. substations statewide that reach their annual peak
load during each month) provided in Attachment lIP A 40 are combined with
similar data for 2005-2008 to calculate five year average Idaho distribution
substation peaks by month as shown on row 75 in the cost of service study. The
ratio of each monthly average peak to the sum of the twelve monthly average
peaks determines the monthly percentages shown on row 76. Attachment PIIC
103 shows substation peak values for years 2005-2009 and calculation of the five
year averages and percentages referenced above.
