RE:Qwest Advices 02-02-S and 02-14-N to revise ITSAP credits to reflect
increased Subscriber Line Charge Rates, effective July 1, 2002
Qwest filed identical tariff advices for its northern and southern serving areas to clarify
some areas of its Idaho Telephone Service Assistance Program (IT SAP) and to reflect the
increased federal Lifeline credit that results from increased federal Subscriber Line Charge
Rates. A portion of the federal Lifeline Credit is equal to the Subscriber Line Charge in order to
offset that charge for qualifying customers. The federal Subscriber Line Charge has increased
from $5.00 to $6.00 per month, and the Lifeline credit has increased correspondingly.
Additionally, Qwest made revisions and clarifications to the ITSAP tariff in accordance
with Staff s request.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Commission approve these tariff advices with an effective date
of July 1 , 2002, to comply with FCC order. Does the Commission agree?
