6 Mr. Fell, have you completed your

7 redirect of Mr. Taylor?

8 MR. FELL: Yes, I have completed

9 redirect.

10 COMMISSIONER SMITH: Okay. Thank

14 witnesses to present at this time?

15 MR. FELL: No, we do not. We're going

16 to be re-calling our witnesses after the Monsanto

17 case.

18 COMMISSIONER SMITH: All right. And

19 Mr. Yankel will be here this afternoon. So our

20 choices are to go to Mr. Budge's witnesses or

21 Mr. Woodbury's. Parties have a preference?

22 MR. BUDGE: I don't think it

23 particularly matters. We had talked previously

24 about having Monsanto go next, I believe.

25 COMMISSIONER SMITH: Monsanto would be

2 MR. BUDGE: We certainly have no care.

7 you're here all the time, so we'll start with

8 Mr. Budge.

9 MR. BUDGE: Thank you. Just for the

10 Commission's information, we had contemplated

11 putting on all of our witnesses on in the same order

12 that their testimony was filed, and doing direct and

13 rebuttal at the same time. And the only witness

14 that won't be available, assuming that no one has

15 changed their mind, is Mr. Hofman, and we would just

16 stipulate to his testimony and exhibits coming into

17 the record without cross.

18 COMMISSIONER SMITH: Okay.

8 BY MR. BUDGE:

9 Q. Would you state your name and address

10 for the record?

11 A. Yes. My name is James R. Smith, and I

12 reside at 371 South Third West, Soda Springs, Idaho.

13 Q. Mr. Smith, did you file prefiled

14 direct testimony and exhibits on behalf of Monsanto

15 Company?

16 A. Yes, I did.

17 Q. And did those exhibits you sponsored

18 consist of Exhibits 201 through 209?

19 A. That is correct.

20 Q. Do you have any corrections you wish

21 to make to either your testimony or your exhibits?

22 A. I have three minor changes to my

23 testimony. The first change I have is on page 14,

24 line 23, typographical error. The word in that line

25 should be "the," although you can't recognize it.

1 I have an additional change on

2 page 21, line 11, and that sentence should read:

3 Shortly after the PacifiCorp/ScottishPower merger in

4 1999, comma, negotations began, comma, as Monsanto

5 felt it was important to start discussions as soon

6 as possible with PacifiCorp management.

7 Then I have a final change on page 26,

8 line 6. It says: Incremental blocks ranging from

9 46 megawatts to -- and it should be 68 megawatts.

10 COMMISSIONER KJELLANDER: I'm sorry.

11 For clarification, are you changing the 46 to 68?

12 THE WITNESS: No, I apologize. The 46

13 should remain the same, but the 166 should change to

14 168.

15 COMMISSIONER SMITH: 168.

16 MR. FELL: Excuse me. Does it change

17 to 168 or just 68?

18 THE WITNESS: 168.

19 MR. FELL: Okay.

20 THE WITNESS: And that concludes my

21 changes.

22 Q. BY MR. BUDGE: Mr. Smith, if I were to

23 ask you your questions contained in your prefiled

24 direct testimony, would your answers be the same
