THIRD PRODUCTION
REQUEST OF THE
COMMISSION STAFF
TO IDAHO POWER
COMPANY
The Staff of the Idaho Public Utilities Commission, by and through its attorney of record, Weldon B. Stutzman, Deputy Attorney General, requests that Idaho Power Company provide the following documents and information on or before TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 1996.
This Production Request is to be considered as continuing, and Idaho Power Company is requested to provide, by way of supplementary responses, additional documents that it or any person acting on its behalf may later obtain that will augment the documents produced.
For each item, please indicate the name of the person(s) preparing the answers, along with the job title of such person(s) and the witness who can sponsor the answer at hearing.
46.Provide a list of work order costs for single phase and three phase meters with energy and demand/energy metering capabilities, typical of meters installed for residential, irrigation and commercial customers. Also provide a summary showing the number of meters of each type installed during a recent 12 month period. In addition, provide a list of costs for current transformers typically used in commercial and irrigation metering installations. Provide a work order cost estimate that includes the total cost, including installation, of typical meters for residential, commercial and irrigation customers.
47.Provide work order cost estimates for complete installation of overhead and pad-mounted transformers typical for residential customers. Provide similar work order estimates for single and three phase, overhead and pad-mounted transformers for commercial, and irrigation customers. Include multiple work order estimates if needed to adequately represent each customer class.
48.Provide copies of the complete work order estimates (ECMS printouts) and work requests (DFE forms) for the following subdivisions:
Mountain Park Estates
Hobble Creek #1
Hickories #12
Meadow Creek
49.Provide a summary of the total payments which Idaho Power made to contractors for line extensions completed in the subdivisions listed in question # 48. Include a brief description of the work included in each line extension. Clarify whether transformers are represented in these payments.
50.Provide a complete cost estimate for meters, service drops and transformers needed in each of the subdivisions listed in question # 48, assuming the subdivisions are fully built out.
51.Provide a list, by work order number and/or work request number, of the payments made to contractors for line extensions constructed in 1995.
52.Provide copies of any information documenting Idaho Power’s minimum requirements for qualification of contractors to build line extensions for the Company. More specifically, what are the Company’s requirements for bonding, insurance, experience, etc. If the Company maintains a list of qualified contractors, please provide a copy.
53.Describe the process used by Idaho Power in determining the price to be paid for line extensions built by contractors other than the Company’s own crews. Also describe how the Company selects contractors for line extensions.
