CASE NO. IPC-E-23-11
IDAHO POWER COMPANY’S
RESPONSE TO REQUEST NO. 66
TO THE SECOND PRODUCTION
REQUEST OF THE COMMISSION
STAFF TO IDAHO POWER
COMPANY
COMES NOW, Idaho Power Company (“Idaho Power” or “Company”), and in
response to the Second Production Request of the Commission Staff (“Commission” or
“Staff”) dated June 27, 2023, herewith submits the following information:
IDAHO POWER COMPANY’S RESPONSE TO REQUEST NO. 66 TO THE SECOND PRODUCTION
REQUEST OF THE COMMISSION STAFF - 2
REQUEST FOR PRODUCTION NO. 66: Please describe any occurrences where
the Company undergrounded any distribution lines both inside and outside of the scope
of the WMP. If any, please provide a supporting worksheet detailing the cost, date in
service, and location (within or outside a Red Risk Zone).
RESPONSE TO REQUEST FOR PRODUCTION NO. 66: In the Confidential
Attachment to this response, Idaho Power has provided a list of Company-initiated
undergrounding projects—including the strategic undergrounding efforts identified in the
Direct Testimony of Mitch Colburn—along with associated project cost, project in-service
date, and whether the project was within a wildfire risk zone.
While Staff did not specify a date range in its request, Idaho Power included
undergrounding projects beginning in 2021—the year in which the Company established
wildfire risk zones—so that the requested project data and location could be identified
within or outside of a risk zone.
The response to this Request is sponsored by Mitch Colburn, Vice President of
Planning, Engineering, and Construction, Idaho Power Company.
