The Staff of the Idaho Public Utilties Commission, by and through its attorney of record,
Scott Woodbur, Deputy Attorney General, requests that Idaho Power Company (Company;
Idaho Power) provide the following documents and information as soon as possible, but no later
than MONDAY, JUY 7,2008.
The Company is reminded that responses pursuat to Commission Rules of Procedure
must include the name and phone number of the person preparng the document, and the name,
location and phone number of the record holder and if different the witness who can sponsor the
answer at hearing if need be. Reference IDAPA 31.01.01.228.
FIRST PRODUCTION REQUEST TO
IDAHO POWER 1 JUE 19,2008
This Production Request is to be considered as continuing, and Idaho Power is requested
to provide, by way of supplementar responses, additional documents that it or any person acting
on its behalf may later obtain that wil augment the documents produced.
Please provide answers to each question, supporting workpapers that provide detail or are
the source of information used in calculations, and the name, job title and telephone number of
the person preparng the documents. Please identify the name, job title, location and telephone
number of the record holder.
Please provide all Excel and electronic files on CD with formulas activated.
REQUEST NO.1: Please provide Mid-C and Palo Verde electric forward prices for
heavy load hours for June, July and August 2008-2011 delivery dates, for settlement dates from
11112007 through the present.
REUEST NO.2: Please provide a copy of the RFP issued in the spring of 2008 to
consider offers for a contract to specifically replace the PPL Montana contract that expires at the
end of summer 2009.
REQUEST NO.3: Please provide a copy of all proposals received in response to the
spring 2008 RFP.
REQUEST NO.4: Please provide energy and capacity load-resource balances for each
year 2010-201 1. The load-resource balances should show forecasted loads by month, along with
hydro, thermal, contractual, PURP A, market purchases, and other resources (including DSM and
demand response programs not accounted for in the load forecast). Individual hydro and
PURP A resources may be lumped together into the two categories, but please list thermal and
contractual resources individually (including the PPL EnergyPlus contract).
REQUEST NO.5: Please provide workpapers showing computation of the July 2010
estimated operating costs for the Danskin 1, Danskin 2 & 3, and Bennett Mountain plants as
discussed on page 9, lines 7-12 of Karl Bokencamp's Direct Testimony. Include estimated
natural gas costs and assumed heat rates for each plant.

REQUEST NO.6: Please provide workpapers showing computation of the estimated
total cost of the contract of approximately $101 per MWh as discussed on page 8, lines 4-6 of
Karl Bokencamp's Direct Testimony.
REQUEST NO.7: Please provide a sumary of all purchases Idaho Power has already
made for heavy load hour sumer months from the sumer of 2008 forward. Include the
quantity, price, delivery month, and settlement date for each purchase.
