Monthly Peak-Hour Northwest Transmission Analysis
Assumptions
Monthly Peak-Hour (MW) Transmission Analysis (2004-2011)
Monthly peak-hour loads were updated to reflect the most current peak load
forecast (2003)
Peak energy (MW) from the PPL Montana power purchase was added at
maximum levels in June, July and August 2004-2009
Danskin peak generation (86 MW) was added in all months to relieve
transmission deficits. Transmission surpluses are not shown. The plant was
assumed to be off-line in April for scheduled maintenance.
Bennett Mountain peak generation (162 MW) was added in all months to relieve
transmission deficits. Transmission surpluses are not shown. The plant was
assumed to be off-line in April for scheduled maintenance.
Garnet was not considered in the analysis
Modeling inputs other than those listed above were assumed to remain at 2002
IRP levels
This analysis was not extended beyond 2011 due to time constraints. Extending
the analysis to 2015 was not feasible because of the extensive modeling
techniques used in the 2002 IRP. Modeling for the 2004 IRP is under way.
