Gibbons: In your facsimile letter dated October 24, 2000, you asked several questions regarding Idaho Power Company’s desire to construct an electrical transmission line along Victory Road between Cloverdale and Locust Grove Roads. In particular, you asked several questions regarding possible health risks and the devaluation of private property located adjacent to the proposed power line. I understand that Idaho Power had applied to the Ada County Planning and Zoning Commission for approval to build the transmission line and a substation. It is also my understanding that the Company’s application was eventually denied by the Commission and Idaho Power has dropped its plan to build the line. Consequently, it appears that the matter has been resolved. I commend you for your involvement in this matter. This demonstrates that public participation in the planning process can make a difference. Sincerely, Dirk Kempthorne Governor
