breaks down the costs associated with Risk Tree by category (i.e., inspections, tree removal, etc.). Please include the costs and/or estimated costs by year for 2021 through 2025. Additionally, please explain if any of the costs were carried over from the previous year (i.e., tree removal based off a previous year's inspections).
RESPONSE: Please See Staff_PR_185 Attachment A for the requested information from 2021 – 2025. On the first tab titled “Risk Tree Expense Categories”, all Risk Tree costs from 2021 through current are summarized by the general category of the expense. 2023 through 2025 budget and forecasts are also
included.
The company does not associate all individual tree inspection attributes with invoices and so it is not possible to report the costs of tree removal tied to a previous year’s inspection. However, we can report this information as follows:
• In 2021, 61.05% of risk tree work completed were from trees identified in 2021; 34.55% were identified in 2020, 4.39% were identified in 2019, and 0.01% were identified in 2018.
• In 2022, 54.96% of risk tree work completed were from trees identified in 2022;
40.67% were trees identified in 2021, 4.27% were trees identified in 2020, and 0.11% were trees identified in 2019.
• Year-to-date in 2023, 2.63% of risk tree work completed were from trees identified
in 2023, 96.47% were identified in 2022, 0.14% were identified in 2021, and 0.76%
were identified in 2020.
