Acording to our expert in Paris, the detection of Acetylene gases may reflect an arcing into the oil of the transformer. This may be at an early stage and could develop into a more critical issue should this transformer be kept on line; accordingly, we support your idea to immediately take the transformer off-line and replacing it, in the interim, with your Siemens back-up unit so that additional tests may be carried out. Regarding the transient monitoring device that is on our transformer, our Turkish factory will arrange to send us the key for the control box. If you agree, we can send someone to the site to confirm whether data was recorded. In such case, we could assist you by sending it to our R&D center for analysis. We may also wish to have a representative of AREVA T&D INC. present for any physical examination, investigation or analysis of the transformer; thus, we ask that you provide us with the operative dates and times for all such activities. You should be aware that AREVA T&D Inc.'s willingness to assist you at this stage and/or participate in any examination, investigation or analysis of the subject transformer, shall not be construed in any way whatsoever as an admission of liability or responsibility with respect to the current transformer situation. Furthermore, AREVA T&D Inc.'s suggestions, if any, regarding potential sources or remedial solutions are advisory only. AREVA T&D Inc. hereby disclaims any liability relative to any such suggestions or information as may be communicated to AVISTA. AVISTA shall be solely responsible for any action taken on the basis of information provided by AREVA T&D Inc. In view of the foregoing action plan, please confirm that we will be proceeding as described above, and also including the collection of transient data by an AREVA T&D INC. representative and participation in the examination, investigation or analysis or the affected transformer.
